What the official page says Dead Plate is

The itch.io description calls Dead Plate a short 2D restaurant tycoon themed RPG horror game with visual novel and point-and-click elements, set in 1960s France. The story follows Rody, a lively waiter who wants to make as much money as possible in a week at a fancy bistro owned by Vince, a charismatic and successful chef. The page’s closing line thanks you for dining at La Gueule de Saturne, which is the restaurant’s name. A fan wiki glosses that French name as “The Mouth of Saturn.”

The same page lists the shape of the game in plain numbers: more than 70 CGs, 8 maps, classic restaurant-tycoon service, a character-driven story with more than 8,000 lines of dialogue, and an original soundtrack. It estimates about 1 hour and 20 to 30 minutes for a single ending, and up to about 3 hours if you play through to completion. It says there are 4 endings, plus different dialogue and hidden secrets or details.

Content warnings on the itch page are graphic death, blood, gore, violence, cannibalism, eyestrain, and disturbing imagery and audio. The page also warns that comments can spoil the story. Those warnings are the developer’s, not a rating invented by this site.

Rody, Vince, and Manon

On the official page the waiter is Rody and the chef-owner is Vince. Fan wikis use the fuller names Rody Lamoree and Vincent “Vince” Charbonneau, and they name Manon as Rody’s girlfriend, the person he is trying to earn money for. Those full names and Manon’s role are wiki material, not sentences printed in the itch blurb. The itch text itself stays with “Rody” and “Vince.”

The setting line on itch.io is “1960s France.” One fan wiki narrows that to 1968–69. This site treats the decade on the official page as the primary date, and the specific years as a wiki claim. Nothing on the itch page places the game on Steam, on phones, or on a console.

The week, without spoiling every plate

You work the bistro across a week of shifts. The official endings guide, a Google Doc linked from the itch page, treats a normal clear from Day 1 through Day 7 as its own route. The other three endings depend on a phone call on the night of Day 6, and that call has a short list of earlier conditions: taking out the trash on Day 3, walking into the kitchen past a minute mark on Day 4, specific talks with Vince on Day 4 and Day 5, and checking a trash can in Vince’s office during the Day 5 night service. After the call, you answer yes.

Day 7 is where those other routes split. The official guide says Best-Served Cold starts the Day 7 shift without Matches equipped, then enters the freezer. Best-Served Hot starts Day 7 with Matches equipped. Matches are bought from the catalogue on the table in Rody’s apartment. Abattoir is failing any quick-time prompt in the final chase. The endings page on this site writes those requirements out in full and separates them from later fan-wiki details, such as a freezer key found during a dinner party.

Other STUDIO INVESTIGRAVE games listed from the same creator page, including Cold Front, Elevator Hitch, Eloquent Countenance, Married in Red, Rot in Paradise, and Jackpot Crash Course Chapter 1, are Windows and macOS downloads as well. They are not browser games on itch.io.

The itch page, checked 29 September 2026, offers the desktop files: a Windows build listed at 962 MB and a macOS zip of about 1 GB. The price is name-your-own-price, so the desktop download can be free. DeadPlate.io is an unofficial fan site and is not the studio.

Use the button on this page, or the download guide, for racheldrawsthis.itch.io/dead-plate. That is the official Windows and macOS release. Skip reuploads and “Dead Plate APK” pages if you want the studio’s desktop files. A Steam store search for “dead plate” on 29 September 2026 returned no results, and the itch page does not link a Steam app.

Known bugs from the itch page

• If an object ignores you, face it with the arrow keys before you press Z.
• If a table will not clear, try Z from the table’s bottom-right side.
• One ending can rarely show two copies of the protagonist sprite at the very end. The page calls this the body-double glitch and says to ignore it.
