The third case

Episode 3 keeps Alicia, the exorcist who doubts ghosts, and gives her a specific call. A client’s mother claims to be haunted. Alicia senses something nefarious behind that claim and rushes to investigate. The page says this is the third game in the series and points at the prequels. It does not say you must finish them first. Features: about 30 to 45 minutes, only one ending, and discussion of religion, cults, and family abuse.

Genre: visual novel. Made with RPG Maker. Tags: horror, pixel art, RPG Maker. Author: Spica. Status: Released. Platforms: HTML5 and Windows. On 29 September 2026 the score was 4.8 from 172 ratings. The panel did not show an update time. The case 3 devlog is the earliest post in the pack, dated 25 September 2025 UTC in the materials index. Price is name your own price. The page says no generative AI was used.

The browser file is html-classic.itch.zone/html/15042198/www/index.html at 816 by 624. Like Deux, the itch page starts it from a button rather than an always-on inline frame. This page loads that same file when you click Play. There is no second ending to optimize, so there is no score chart like Deux’s.

What the developer said about the shape of the case

The case 3 devlog is commentary, not a room-by-room walkthrough. Spica says this episode is quite different from the earlier ones because it is a lot more linear and more focused on the setting’s lore. They were nervous about that, and they apologized for delays. They also say they wanted Astrea’s involvement to be a surprise, which is why screenshots during development were selective. That sentence is a story reveal from the developer. If you want the episode cold, stop at the itch blurb and skip the rest of this section.

Other sourced notes from that devlog, if you are reading after you play or you want the background: Alicia was Lillian’s bodyguard, and the devlog says that job is part of why the guilt sits where it does. Beaford had guessed she was a detective. Examining a photo frame in the house is how the game tells you that Itou’s parents died when he was a teenager and that he raised his sister. The devlog frames the client’s mother as a victim who was caught at a vulnerable moment, and it says even Beaford and Alicia get manipulated. Those are author statements about the story, not button prompts.

The devlog also talks about cuts that never shipped. A bomb in Astrea’s car was drafted for an earlier case and removed. A larger joke count was cut so it would not break the serious conversations. An idea to make Eurydice from Post Memory into Alicia’s lawyer was scrapped. None of those are scenes you can trigger. The single ending means you are not hunting a hidden flag the way Deux’s Spirit Box score works. Play the rooms in the order the game opens them.

Credits, and the Dead Plate composer

The game is credited to Spica. Cover and title art are by Moroo. RPG Maker MV plugins listed are Galv, Yanfly, Himeworks, Waynee95, Mjshi, Mr. Trivel, Gimmer, and Fallen Angel Olivia. Pixel sources are Limezu, VectorPixelStar, and everlywritesgames. Music and sound are Peritune, FreqMan, DOVA-SYNDROME, and Bell Kalengar. BellKalengar is the same composer credited on Dead Plate’s itch page. Episode 3 is not a STUDIO INVESTIGRAVE game. The shared name is the music credit.

Prequels on this site are Silver Thread: Episode I, the remastered half-hour case with two endings on its current listing, and Silver Thread: Deux, the theater investigation with the official score guide. Episode 3 is the short, linear one. Symbiosis, Homekeeping, and Post Memory are other Spica browser games if you finish the series and want a different cast. Post Memory is the one the devlog almost tied to Alicia’s lawyer and then did not.

Warnings before a 40-minute case

The content line is discussion of religion, cults, and family abuse. It does not repeat Episode I’s “cartoon blood and violence” sentence. Do not import that older warning as if Episode 3 had printed it. The clock is 30 to 45 minutes, closer to Episode I than to Deux’s hour and a half. One ending means a second play is for scenes you missed, not for a named good or bad card. The creator’s advice, implied by “more linear,” is to examine what the rooms let you examine, including that photo frame, and let the case finish.

Silver Thread: Episode 3 FAQ

How many endings does Episode 3 have?

One. The itch page says “Only one ending.” There is no good-ending score like the one Spica published for Deux.

How long is it?

About 30 to 45 minutes, according to the itch feature list.

Do I need the first two games?

The page says this is the third game in the series and links the prequels. It does not say the episode refuses to start if you have not played them. Deux’s own page says that game can stand alone. Episode 3’s page does not repeat that sentence.

Is there a walkthrough?

No step-by-step route guide was published in the materials. The creator’s devlog says the episode is more linear and more about lore than the earlier cases. It mentions examining a photo frame in the house for Itou’s family history.

What are the content warnings?

Discussion of religion, cults, and family abuse. That is the warning printed on the Episode 3 page.

Can I play it on a phone?

The itch page does not list a mobile platform. It lists HTML5 and Windows, and the controls are keyboard keys: arrows, Z or Space, X, Shift, and Page Down.
