Dead Plate endings
Dead Plate has four endings. The names and the steps below come from the official endings guide linked on the itch.io page, not from a guess. Fan-wiki details are labeled separately so they are not mixed up with that document.

The four names
- Ending 1: Table for One. Work every shift from Day 1 through Day 7.
- Ending 2: Best-Served Cold. After the phone call, start Day 7 without Matches and enter the freezer.
- Ending 3: Best-Served Hot. After the phone call, start Day 7 with Matches equipped and enter the freezer.
- Ending 4: Abattoir. Fail any quick-time prompt in the final chase.
The itch.io page says there are 4 endings, plus different dialogue and hidden secrets or details. One clear of the week is not the whole game. The other three endings all depend on the same phone call.
The phone call on Day 6
The official guide says you must trigger the phone call on the night of Day 6 before Best-Served Cold, Best-Served Hot, or Abattoir will open. These are the conditions it lists, in its order:
- On Day 3, take out the trash. The guide says this plays a cutscene.
- On Day 4, walk into the kitchen past a minute mark. The guide says this also plays a cutscene.
- On Day 4, talk to Vince and choose “Can you give me a raise” and “Do you like your job.”
- On Day 5, talk to Vince and choose “What’s your favorite food.”
- During the Day 5 night restaurant segment, go to Vince’s office and interact with the trash can.
When the call comes, answer yes. The guide does not print a second branch for answering no. Days 1 and 2 have no extra conditions in that document. You still work the shifts. The walkthrough page says what each later day is asking for, including the catalogue stop at the apartment.
Ending 1: Table for One
Complete the shifts from Day 1 through Day 7. The official guide does not add a special item or a conversation check for this route. If you are collecting the other endings in the same file, do the phone-call steps anyway and keep a save before Day 7. Table for One is the route that simply finishes the week of work. The guide does not say you must avoid the phone call to receive it, only that completing every shift is the requirement it prints.
Ending 2: Best-Served Cold
Start the Day 7 shift without Matches equipped. When the shift starts, enter the freezer. Matches are the item the guide tells you to buy from the catalogue on the table in Rody’s apartment, so “without Matches” means you leave that item unequipped for this morning. Do this only after you have answered yes to the Day 6 call. The guide does not describe the scene inside the freezer. It stops at the door.
Ending 3: Best-Served Hot
Start the Day 7 shift with Matches equipped, then enter the freezer when the shift starts. That is the whole difference the official guide draws between Hot and Cold. Buy the matches early enough that Day 7 can begin with them on. The endings document does not print the price. A fan wiki’s catalogue page lists Matches at €1300 and says the other stock includes cologne, skates, a watch, a trash can, and a tip jar. Those prices and effects are wiki text, not lines in the official endings doc. If you only trust the developer’s guide, the actionable sentence is: the catalogue is on the apartment table, and Hot requires Matches equipped.
Ending 4: Abattoir
Fail any quick-time prompt during the final chase. The official guide does not say which prompt, or how many prompts there are. Missing one is enough for this ending. Players who want Hot or Cold intact should treat the chase prompts as something to pass, and keep the failed attempt on a separate save.
What the fan wikis add
These notes are not in the official endings document. The Dead Plate Fandom page on the dinner party says that answering the phone leads to dinner at Vincent’s home, and that a freezer key is on the nightstand in Vincent’s bedroom. That key is described there as what gets you into endings 2 through 4. The Studio Investigrave Fandom page says that in Ending 3 Rody burns through a rope with the matches and then has to dodge Vincent, who has a corkscrew, and that every attack has to be avoided for success. The endings wiki page equates Ending 4 with failing a quick-time prompt in that chase, which matches the official guide’s Abattoir line.
Use the official five phone-call steps and the Day 7 Matches split as the route list. Use the wiki notes only as extra geography: a dinner, a key, a rope, a chase. This site has not replayed those scenes to confirm the wiki wording, and the developer’s document does not mention the key by name.
FAQ
How many endings does Dead Plate have?
Four. The official endings guide names them Table for One, Best-Served Cold, Best-Served Hot, and Abattoir. The itch.io page also says there is extra dialogue and hidden detail beyond those four.
How do I get the phone call?
The official guide says the call happens on the night of Day 6 if you take out the trash on Day 3, enter the kitchen past a minute mark on Day 4, choose the listed Vince dialogue on Day 4 and Day 5, and interact with the trash can in Vince’s office during Day 5 night service. Answer yes.
What is the difference between Best-Served Cold and Best-Served Hot?
Both start by entering the freezer when the Day 7 shift begins. Cold means you did not equip Matches. Hot means you did. Matches are bought from the catalogue on the table in Rody’s apartment.
How do I get Abattoir?
The official guide says to fail any quick-time prompt during the final chase.
